Below, I’ll share more details, including the full list of vegan flavors. I’ll also share which menu items are NOT vegan.

Rita’s Italian Ice Vegan Menu

The following vegan menu was compiled with the help of the nutrition and allergen information on Rita’s website.

Restaurant menus change and often vary by location. I recommend double checking any important information with staff at your location!

1. Italian Ice

As of this writing, the only non-vegan flavor of Italian Ice at Rita’s is “Chocolate Chocolate Chip”—it contains milk. All the other flavors are free of milk, eggs, and other animal products.

3. All-Natural Ice

All flavors of the “All-Natural Ice” are vegan.

  • All Natural Pineapple
  • All Natural Strawberry
  • All Natural Strawberry Pineapple

4. Cones & Bowls

The vegan cone options can be a bit confusing. The Cake Cone is safest bet. That said, here’s the full list, along with an explanation:

  • Cake Cone
  • Waffle Cone *
  • Waffle Bowl *
  • Chocolate Cone Dip

(*) Note: The “Fresh-Baked” versions of the Waffle Cone and Waffle Bowl apparently contain milk and egg, but some locations have pre-made versions that are vegan instead. Ask at your location whether their Waffle Cones and Waffle Bowls contain milk and egg or not.

5. Toppings & Mix-ins

About ~half of the toppings at Rita’s are vegan. Here’s the list of vegan topping options:

  • Apple Pie Filling
  • Brownie Batter Bites
  • Cookie Dough Bites
  • Maraschino Cherries
  • OREO Cookies
  • Peanuts
  • Sprinkles
  • Wet Walnuts

But What About…

You might be hoping some of the following items would be vegan, too—but unfortunately they’re not:

  • The Custard is not vegan. All flavors contain milk and egg ingredients.
  • All treats containing custard are not vegan. So the Cookie Custard Sandwiches, the Gelati, Blendini, Concrete, and Misto Shakes are all not vegan.

Let’s answer one more common question…

Is Rita’s Water Ice Vegan?

Almost all flavors of Rita’s Water Ice are vegan. The only non-vegan flavor as of 2021 is “Chocolate Chocolate Chip,” as it contains milk. See a full list of confirmed vegan flavors above.

If you were not aware, “Water Ice” is just another term for Italian Ice. At Rita’s, this product line is almost entirely vegan.
