Here’s Every Vegan Option at Habit Burger

Fast-food burger joints aren’t usually great for vegans…. But Habit Burger is actually quite a bit better than most. You can definitely get a full vegan meal here. Let me show you how.

Vegan options at Habit Burger:

  • Veggie Burger
  • Garden Salad (No Croutons)
  • French Fries
  • Sweet Potato Fries
  • Tempura Green Beans
  • Toppings, Sauces, and Dressings
  • Beverages

More on all these options below. I’ll also share some insider tips on how to customize your salad to make it more filling. And I’ll cover common questions about Habit Burger onion rings and what kind of patty they used for their vegan burger.

I’ll also end with a whole-food plant-based guide to Habit Burger, in case you’re trying to avoid processed and fried food, too!

Habit Burger Vegan Menu

To put together this vegan menu, I used the official Habit Burger allergen info, full menu, and nutritional guides on their website.

I have 13 years of vegan dining experience and I spent a couple of hours on this post, so it should all be correct. That said, you may want to check with your local Habit Burger about details you’re concerned about. Menus change, and it’s always possible I overlooked something.

1. Veggie Burger

The Habit Burger veggie burger is vegan! It’s a Morningstar Farms patty (one of the vegan ones—no eggs or anything).

It comes with a toasted wheat bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and sweet mustard dressing.

There are options for switching out the bun, if you prefer something else. All these bun options appear to be vegan:

  • Seeded Bun
  • Wheat Bun
  • Plain Bun
  • Grilled Sourdough (No Butter)
  • Iceberg Lettuce

See the full list of vegan sauces and extras you can add to your burger below. I’d recommend the avocado in particular.

2. Salad

You can have a pretty epic vegan salad at Habit Burger. Start with this one, and add customization from there:

  • Garden Salad (no croutons): Romaine, iceberg, and green- and red-leaf lettuce, with Roma tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and carrots.

(The Side Salad should also be vegan without croutons. Other salads could be veganized, too, but they’d take more alterations.)

What’s cool at Habit Burger is that you can basically build-your-own vegan salad. Because there are actually some great components you can add.

See the full list of vegan salad dressings and extras below. But I’d definitely recommend adding avocado, quinoa, or veggie burger patty to make your salad more filling.

3. French Fries

French fries are the classic vegan option even at fast-food burger joints. At Habit Burger, you actually have some other good vegan options, but the fries are still here for you!

Note: These may be deep-fried in the same fryer as animal products. If this is a big concern to you, be sure to ask about the setup at your specific location.

4. Sweet Potato Fries

The sweet potato fries are vegan, too—in case you prefer these!

Note: These may be deep-fried in the same fryer as animal products. If this is a big concern to you, be sure to ask about the setup at your specific location.

5. Tempura Green Beans

What an unusual offering. Usually you’ll see tempura at Japanese restaurants and stuff. This may be the first time I’ve seen it at a Burger place. Neat!

Note: These may be deep-fried in the same fryer as animal products. If this is a big concern to you, be sure to ask about the setup at your specific location.

6. Toppings, Sauces, and Dressings

The following can be added to your salad or veggie burger:

  • Apple Slices
  • Avocado
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Caramelized Onions
  • Craisins
  • Fat Free Italian Dressing
  • Fire Roasted Corn
  • Pineapple Slice
  • Quinoa
  • Red Wine Vinaigrette
  • Sweet Mustard Dressing
  • Teriyaki Sauce
  • Veggie Burger Patty

Note: The House Dressing (balsamic & olive oil) contains fish. The Pickled Red Onion contains fish. The Sautéed Portabella Mushrooms contain dairy.

7. Beverages

Plenty of vegan drinks to choose from, mainly Coca-Cola products:

  • Apple Juice
  • Barq’s Root Beer
  • Black Tea
  • Citrus Green Tea
  • Coke
  • Diet Coke
  • Lemonade
  • Pibb Xtra
  • Powerade
  • Sprite
  • Strawberry Limeade
  • Tropical Tea
  • Vitamin Water

Are Habit Burger Onion Rings Vegan?

Habit Burger onion rings are not vegan, as they contain dairy.

Does Habit Burger Have the Impossible Burger?

Habit Burger does not have the Impossible Burger. For their veggie burger, Habit Burger uses a Morningstar Farms patty that is vegan. A few years ago, they switched to this patty from a non-vegan Morningstar Farms patty that contained eggs.

Whole-Food Plant-Based Options

I like to include a list of whole-food plant-based (WFPB) options for my vegan guides to chain restaurants, too. If you’re trying to avoid processed foods and fried foods to get maximum vegan health benefits, this is your section!

Eating WFPB at Habit Burger means focusing on building a big salad. You can add avocado and quinoa to it, and you can get some pineapple slices, apple slices, or other toppings (listed above).

The veggie burger patty is not WFPB, as it’s one of the Morningstar Farms patties, which is pretty processed. And the french fries and tempura green beans are obviously fried. So if you’re trying to eat WFPB, I say just build yourself a big salad, and call it good!
